About the work of art
The work of art “Foam Born” is a classic mixed media made of ash, rock dust, coffee and pigments, with paper and charcoal on a gessoboard. It is an informal work, which means that the material used and the unclassified forms are in the foreground and determine the pictorial impact. The title of the work refers to the colourfulness and dynamics of the image, as it reminds me of the sea, the sand and the stones on Aphrodite’s Rock in Cyprus. It is said that the goddess of love and passion rose from the sea there. That’s why I called this work “foam born”.
The wooden body can easily be hung on the wall using two screws / dowels and then lies against the wall. If desired, the painting can be framed in a narrow black metal frame, which a blacksmith near Munich makes for me.
