For me, painting is a deeply sensual, tactile, and aesthetic process. Every day in my studio, I am fascinated anew by the raw power of the pigments, the mixed paint pots, and the tubes. Whether creamy, impasto, or liquid—applying and blending the colors onto the canvas appeals to all my senses. My choice of color is directly guided by my emotions. A vibrant red springs from a completely different inner mood than a deep blue. Yet every work requires time: it involves a constant pausing and reflection. I intuitively sense what the interplay of lines, surfaces, and layers needs in each process until a work of art that is absolutely harmonious in itself emerges.
