About the artwork
This abstract work is an informal painting in mixed technique, made with structuring and different materials, for example rock powders such as marble powder and slate powder, but also ash, rust and pigments, which are applied in many layers, sometimes very watery, sometimes pasty with a brush or spatula. This creates a very tactile surface and material density overall. The title “Upheaval” refers to the colorfulness and drama in the painting. The blue areas are in strong contrast to the bright colors. The composition is dramatic, reminiscent of weather changes in the mountains or at sea. It looks as if a kind of upheaval or change is taking place.
The painting is framed in a white wooden frame.
The artwork can easily be hung on the wall with two screws/plugs.
