About the artwork
The work of art “Clarification” is made from ash, coal, rock flour and pigments on a gesso board. The painting is a classically informal work, which means that the material used and the unclassified forms are in the foreground and determine the effect of the picture. The title of the work refers to the white pigments that lie in several layers over the black, gray and pink areas and thereby move them into the background. The white impresses with the clarity of the color. It is a very light painting, with a lot of structure and, despite the light color, radical.
The wooden body can easily be hung on the wall using two screws / dowels and then lies against the wall.
The art historian Dr. Ingrid Gardill has explained the work in mixed media in more detail in an article.
