About the artwork
This abstract work is an informal painting created using mixed media, employing textural and varied materials such as ash, rust, and pigments, which are layered upon one another and applied in a very watery consistency. This results in a highly tactile surface. The blue pigments, combined with white pigments, marble dust, slate dust, and rust, evoke the image of water. Compositionally, a kind of sequence can be discerned through the portrait format. These pictorial elements seem somehow related and to be communicating with one another. Hence the title “Wassergeflüster” (Whispers of Water).
The painting is framed in a white shadow-joint wooden frame. The painting can be easily hung on the wall using two screws/anchors.
