About the artwork
This abstract work is an informal painting in mixedmedia technique, made with structuring and different materials, for example rock powders such as marble powder and slate powder, but also ash and pigments, which are applied in many layers, sometimes very watery, sometimes pasty with a brush or spatula. This creates a very tactile surface and material density overall. The title “Wanderlust” refers to the colors in the picture. The blue tones in combination with the white and slate grey are reminiscent of the sea, water in general and therefore also of travel, vacations, diving, depending on the mood of the viewer.
The painting is framed in a white wooden frame.
