About the artwork
The artwork Erdig No. 7 in the format 30x30x6cm is a mixed media painting on wood and part of the abstract painting series “Erdig”. I only used earth colors during the creative process, such as stoneflour and earths from Italy, France, Cyprus and Germany. I also used ash, charcoal, rust (iron pigment), soot and bone pigments (the deep black pigment) and fine China paper. The wooden bodies are alternately painted or covered with paper colored by me. The painting is framed in an oak frame, which enhances the noble effect of the picture. The painting can be hung on the wall or as an object on a shelf.
I think that in our digital age, where everyone is increasingly focused on screens, it is absolutely necessary to indulge in earth colors. The painting are small and compact, but with a lot of power that can hit the viewer to the core. I believe this corresponds to the need for nature and being outdoors, which most of us painfully neglect.
