About the work

The work of art “On to new shores” is a collage of fine Chinese paper, which the artist has dyed in light blue and green tones in advance. The papers are then torn up again and re-collaged to form an image in an elaborate layering process. This creates an enormous image depth, because the papers are very transparent. The collage is complete
end with a thick layer of wax made of paraffin, which gives the painting a special feel. The viewer would like to touch and stroke the work all the time. The artist has made fine traces in the wax with a scoring needle, into which oil paint has been rubbed.
The collage was made in France in the beautiful Ardeche region and is inspired by the colors there.
The collage can be framed. Either a black metal frame, which corresponds to the scratched black traces in the wax, or a white wooden frame, which supports the friendliness of the work, looks most beautiful.
