About the artwork
The work is a collage of fine chinese paper that I colored in advance with coffee, white, blue ink, aquamarine-blue and carbon black pigments. After drying, I tore up the paper and rearranged it in many layers to create the finished picture. This creates an immense pictorial depth, which is in great tension with the contrasting black colored paper and the light background. The painting is framed in a wooden frame. It is possible to paint the frame in white or black or leave it “raw”.
