About the artwork
This abstract work is an informal painting in mixed technique, made with structuring and different materials, such as stone powder, marble powder and slate powder, but also ash, rust and pigments, which are applied in many layers, sometimes very watery, sometimes pasty with a brush or spatula. This creates a very tactile surface and material density overall. The blue tones in combination with the gray slate, the warm rust and the bright white have a very calming effect. Nevertheless, the picture has an enormous tension, which is primarily achieved by the incisions in the material and the clever use of color contrast. It looks as if all the elements and colors are in motion and moving in one direction. The title of the painting, “Keep moving”, also refers to this.
The painting is framed in a white wooden frame.
The painting can be easily hung on the wall using two screws/plugs.
