About the work
The work is a collage of fine Chinese paper, which I colored in advance with coffee, white and turquoise pigments, and ink. After drying, I tore up these papers again and rearranged them in many layers to create the finished picture. I chose the title “Mopsfidel” (Jolly) because this collage radiates something funny, despite the strong contrast. Somehow it seems as if everything feels comfortable in the painting …
