About the artwork
This abstract work is an informal painting in mixedmedia technique, made with structuring and different materials, such as ash, rust and pigments, which are applied in many layers, sometimes very watery, sometimes pasty with a brush or spatula. The rusted areas in the painting are partly collaged with paper, but partly also painted with a glaze using a brush. This creates a very tactile surface and material density overall. The title “Far away from everyday life” refers to the colorfulness and the painting composition, which are reminiscent of the sea, sailing, wind in the hair, or generally “being by the water”. In any case, far removed from a “normal” everyday situation.
The painting is framed in a white wooden frame. The painting can be easily hung on the wall with two screws / dowels.
