About the artwork
The square painting in the format 30x30x6cm is a collage made of Chinese paper, which is part of the series “About freedom and stability”. I colored all the papers in advance with a shade of blue, coffee, rust and white pigments. The title alludes to the pictorial action, because on the one hand the collage appears very calm and free, on the other hand the arrangement of the surfaces and the chosen colors also convey security. In my opinion, freedom is only possible, or endurable and beautiful, if a certain form of grounding or support is present at the same time. Then “freedom” is productive and not a state of “being lost”.
This little work of art is framed in a white wooden floating frame.
