About the artwork
This abstract work is an informal painting in mixed media, made with textural and different materials, such as ash, rust and pigments applied very watery in many layers on top of each other. This creates a very tactile surface.
The painting is dominated by shades of blue, light blue, white and gray. This color scheme immediately evokes the sea, spray, freshness, breathing … The gray tones created with slate powder and rust reinforce the impression of water. The white and light blue areas rise above the blue, and it seems as if these areas are moving away quickly, towards the horizon or upwards. This is why the title is “Off to freedom”.
It is framed in a white wooden shadow gap frame. It can be easily attached to the wall with two screws and wall plugs.
